Deco & Ware E-commerce Lifestyle Brand

Using previous professional experience, I created my own brand Deco & Ware. From concept, through to branding to product design. The brand was created to be simple and portray the high quality products that is sold. I also wanted to learn in-depth about the world of ecommerce.

 Branding

The branding for Deco & Ware was designed to be simple and bold so it was easily recognisable. The simple logo’s designs are almost ‘stamp-like’, giving all the products adorned with the logo a sense of quality. The colour palette is neutral, and therefore allowed accented colour from individual products to come through. The brand imagery and photography is also simple yet eye-catching, which stays true to the brands principles which is; honesty, originality, quality and consciousness.

The Products

The branding of the products was simple to create a timeless design which would not be out of place in any home. Each product was designed and tested to allow for the quality to shine through. The products use high-quality components which are dual-sourced to allow for seamless manufacture.

UTILITARIAN STYLE

The Website Desktop

The initial step of designing the website was to establish user goals to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.

The main attributes of the website to achieve the user goals were:

  1. It has to be easy to use.

  2. The sales funnel has to be as smooth as possible.

  3. Offer a variety of payment methods.

  4. Make sure product listings were detailed and clear.

  5. Be visually appealing.

Once the user goals were established, I created a wire-frame sketch of the website to ensure customers had a seamless experience. In the initial stages of the website launch, feedback from users was positive, however they did request I include more payment methods such as PayPal. This was added shortly after the feedback was received.

The video below was created as a banner video for the website. It was done using After Effects.

The Website Mobile

A majority of traffic was generated from click throughs from social media channels, therefore the website had to be responsive on mobile . CSS and HTML was used to make sure that all pages of the website pages looked organised and easy-to-use.

I made sure the website kept true to the Deco & Ware was simple and easy to use and navigate to reduce the bounce rate and keep users engaged.

Print and Stationary Design

All print and stationary was designed within the brand guidelines. From invoices, to advertising material, to packaging and labels, all Deco & Ware print and stationary was designed to create a strong and recognisable brand presence.

Marketing Media

Marketing is arguably the most important aspect of building a brand. I created a variety of different marketing media which could be used across a variety of platforms to raise brand awareness.

 Art

Wall art was created and designed to be printed on a variety of different fine art media. The prints combine different media from the public domain and graphic elements created by myself. The art was an addition to be able to express my creative side as well as inject some fun into the ‘utilitarian’ style.
